On a half of a medium size canteen gourd, you will have fun reviewing or learning different carving techniques and patterns. Any of these techniques will be easy to integrate into your designs therefore adding beauty and interest to your pieces. You will learn: filigree, a more detailed and advance filigree, scallops, outline carving and simple leaves. We will also do some stippling and you will carve a faux cabochon in the center.
This class is great for all levels of gourding students. The instructor will provide a class-ready canteen gourd half, step by step instructions and metallic paints in case somebody wants to finish the samples with color in class.
You will have plenty of time to practice each of the techniques. This a very attractive piece and after you apply some color, it can be mounted on a canvas to be used as a wall hanging.
