Class description

This beautiful technique can be used in a variety of ways for adding interest to your gourd art. In this class, the faux turquoise technique will be applied to a necklace pendant made from a gourd shard, or around the rim of a gourd bowl. The instructor will provide a shard for anyone making a necklace, but those who want to do the rim of a bowl will need to bring their own 4 to 6 inch wide gourd, cleaned and cut prior to class.

In addition to the faux turquoise technique, you will learn to create a necklace bail with wire coiling-- turning your shard into a pretty necklace.

The instructor will supply gourd shards, some beads, paints, applicators, varnish, wire for coiling, Identi Pens, wipes, and a tutorial.

What you are required to bring

A pencil and a note pad

A wood burner (if you have one)

A small paint brush

Optional: A cleaned, class-ready gourd bowl if you don't want to make the necklace.

Optional: A work apron or a big shirt to protect your clothing.
