Class description

Use the wood turning skills you learn in this class to make your very own hand-crafted ice cream scoop!
Learn some essential wood turning skills, first by demonstration, then by hands on. The objective of the class is for you to make your very own and very unique Ice Cream Scoop. The demo portion will show how to prepare your turning blanks, turning terminology and cover lathe safety. Then I will demonstrate turning an Ice Cream Scoop handle, and the steps to finish it and assemble it. Because of the limited number of Lathes that I have at my disposal, we will then have a sign-up and time slot system where you will work 1 on 1 or 2 with me to turn and assemble your own scoop. Please note that the turning Blanks will already have a certain amount of preparation done to them before you start - again this is due to the limited number of time available.

I will provide lathes, turning tools, and material to complete the project.
What you are required to bring
Each student is required to bring eye protection, and dust mask.
A smock or apron to protect your clothing is recommended.
