Class description

Whether you are a novice or a seasoned pyrographer, this class provides a remarkable opportunity to refine your wood-burning skills and elevate your pyrography work to new heights.  In this class, you will learn to navigate the intricacies of light and shadow to breathe life into art.

In this class, you will learn to wood burn without cutting into the surface of the wood.  And this technique is not just for wood—it also works on gourd surfaces!  You’ll transfer the design and uncover the secrets of creating depth and realism with shading while burning wood or gourd.

You will finish the design using controlled heat to get the value of shades which will show 3 dimensions in your design.  Each student will get their wooden box to decorate and take home, along with a class tutorial.

What you are required to bring

A "wire-tip" style wood burner with the following tips:
   spoon shader (medium) tip
standard writing tip or ball stylus tip (medium)

Note: "Solid-tip" style wood burners will NOT work for this class. Contact Smruti at Kurse.smruti@gmail.com if you have questions about your wood burner or the burning tips.
