Class description

 

A-tisket, a-tasket, let's make some little baskets!

 

In this class, Ken will guide you through the challenges of wood burning miniature baskets from gourds. You will start by wood burning a small, 2.5 to 3 inch gourd basket, then you'll move on to a mini "spinner" gourd basket.

​

These little baskets are perfect to add to a terrarium or display in your curio cabinet. They make nice gifts as well.

​

Ken will supply the gourds and all the supplies needed to accomplish your basket gourds--you just bring your wood burning tool.

​

What you are required to bring

 

Just bring a "wire-tip" style wood burner along with your burning pens and tips and a desire to make art and have fun.

Note: "Solid-tip" style wood burners will NOT work for this class. Contact Ken at truckeerodmaker@gmail.com if you have questions about your wood burner or the burning tips.

Class Cancellation Policy

 

If you need to cancel this class, you MUST contact us before August 22, 2024 in order to receive a refund. Note that NGS will withhold $10 per cancelled class to cover processing fees. To cancel, call Patti Jo Newsom @ 817-917-7873 or email nevadagourdsociety@gmail.com.

If a class does not meet the minimum number of students, the class will be cancelled, you will be contacted, and your full registration fee will be refunded.

 

About the Instructor

 

Ken is an active member of the Nevada Gourd Society and the Great Basin Gourd Patch. He been carving gourds for 12 years.
