Class description

 

You will work a knotless netting pattern on a jewelry/spinner gourd with some basic macrame techniques to make a unique beaded necklace with adjustable closure.

The instructor will supply a small pre-finished gourd, 3 or 4 ply waxed linen, Size 8-0 or 6-0 beads. See below for the supplies you need to bring with you.

This class is best for intermediate and advanced weavers. 

​

You should be able to finish the project if you have adequate prior experience with basic knotless netting technique, and if your necklace design is not too complicated. It would be easy to complete the project at home and not require any special tools. Class Cancellation Policy

 

If you need to cancel this class, you MUST contact us before August 30, 2026 in order to receive a refund. Note that NGS will withhold $10 per cancelled class to cover processing fees. To cancel, call Patti Jo Newsom @ 817-917-7873 or email nevadagourdsociety@gmail.com.

If a class does not meet the minimum number of students, the class will be cancelled, you will be contacted, and your full registration fee will be refunded.

About the Instructor

 

I've been a member of Calabash Club & California Gourd Society for almost 10 years. During which I've learned several gourd art techniques, but I have an affinity and enjoy getting creative with Knotless Netting! A technique that I am very grateful to have learned from Kennie Winter!
